EXT. FIELD
THE YELLOW DISTURBANCE IS RIPPED OPEN AGAIN. BRODY, MWILLA-MINA, PRUDENCIA, MADAME CHAO, FRINT-ANDA-HALPH, LIL BLUE, and TERMINIA emerge into the open sky and bob about for a minute.
THE YELLOW DISTURBANCE DISSAPEARS. The TEAM SCREAMS as they plummet to -
THE GROUND
Brody’s body crumples with the impact and lies inert. Mwilla Mina bounces on the ground, catching Terminia, Lil Blue and Frint-Anda-Halph on her pillowy belly. Madame Chao descends slowly, his hands clasped in a prayer position. Prudencia uses her jet-pack to reach the ground safely.
Mwilla-Mina rolls over and presses her hands against the ground.
MWILLA-MINA
What the Hell?
Judge Prudencia holds out a pocket-scanner.
PRUDENCIA
I’m taking readings.
Lil Blue, Frint-Anda-Halph, and Terminia gape about, terrified.
Madame Choa meditates, sitting cross legged on the ground.
EXT. CASTLE GRAVEYARD
The people are burying the ashes of the king under a Willow Tree. PRINCE BRENDEMIR, handsome but young, Cries softly.
INT. NIKKI’S BED CHAMBERS…
From behind we see the lithe, long haired figure of PRINCESS NIKKI, Languishing in her chair, watching the burial from the window.
EXT. FIELD – DAY
PRUDENCIA
These readings are off the scales…
Mwilla-Mina has stood up. She is having trouble keeping her balance.
MWILLA-MINA
I’m so big … so big and heavy!
Frint-Anda-Halph, Lil Blue and Terminia run about in terror trying to avoid her clumsy girth.
PRUDENCIA
If my Carbon readings are correct, we’ve been sent hundreds of years into the past.
Mwilla-Mina falls to the ground.
MWILLA-MINA
What the Hell does that mean. Brody?
Brody lies dead and broken on the ground.
PRUDENCIA
He’s Dead.
MWILLA-MINA
So? Brody, what she talking about? Why is everything so slow and heavy all of a sudden.
Brody’s corpse stirs for a moment, and then falls flaccid.
Terminia is silently crying.
FRINT-ANDA-HALPH
Why is that termite crying?
LIL BLUE
In this World, Termites can’t talk. Terminia is mourning the loss of language.
Terminia nods sadly through his tears.
FRINT-ANDA-HALPH
How do you know?
LIL BLUE
Because the same thing is happening
to me.
Mwilla-Mina falls flat on her face.
EXT. CASTLE GRAVEYARD – DAY
Prince Brendemir has clasped his hands over his solar plexus, bowing his head in prayer.
BRENDEMIR
We are gathered here to bid farewell to my Father, our King. He was a kind and just Ruler … he gave to his people, and never complained of the great weight of responsibility they saddled upon him.
INT. PRINCESS NIKKI’S BED CHAMBER – DAY
Princess Nikki is crying softly
NIKKI
Oh Father…
EXT. FIELD
FRINT-ANDA-HALPH
What do you mean, Little Blue? I can still understand you.
LIL BLUE
Not for Long… The Ectaba Beralu…
FINT-ANDA-HALPH
Will the same thing happen to Frint-Anda-Halph?
Madame Chao speaks from his meditation.
MADAME CHAO
No, Frint-Anda-Halph. You are a magical bird.
Lil Blue cries softly in silence. Frint-Anda-Halph’s eyes go wide.
FRINT-ANDA-HALPH
Lil Blue!?
Mwilla-Mina lies on the ground, overwhelmed by her own bulk.
INT. PRINCESS NIKKI’S BED CHAMBER – DAY
There is a knock at the door.
NIKKI
Yes, Come in.
The Door opens. Brarko stands in the doorway, with Mody [a baby dragon] lingering behind.
BRARKO
Princess, my apologies for disturbing you at this time.
NIKKI
What is it, Brarko?
BRARKO
I fear our kingdom is in danger.
She turns to face him, gives him an icy glare.
NIKKI
I have no mood for Wizard’s Games.
BRARKO
I would not play games at such a
time! I have had a terrible Vision.
NIKKI
Tell me of this vision.
BRARKO
I saw a great Malevolence gather in the sky… a knot of Chaos reaching out to infect our world.
NIKKI
A Demon?
BRARKO
It was flaming like hell itself. Not a demon but the disease carried in a Demon’s Loins. A Storm made of Time.
NIKKI
You speak like a madman and a prophet – Why have these visions come to you alone, oh humble alchemist?
BRARKO
I am the only one prepared to see.
NIKKI
And what do you see, Dragon?
Mody pokes his head out from behind Brarko’s legs. He looks upon the ground humbly.
MODY
It cannot be expressed with words,
my lady.
Nikki casts her glance out the window, her eyes hard.
BRARKO
The threat comes from the East.
EXT. CASTLE GRAVEYARD – DAY
BRENDEMIR
…And so we lay you to your rest, my father, Our Lord, beneath the skin of our Great Mother. May you Rise again.
The assembly repeats his words as he sprinkles soil upon the kings grave.
ALL
May you Rise again…
A rousing chorus of melancholy woodwinds begin.
INT. NIKKI’s CHAMBER – DAY
NIKKI
Why did you come to me first?
BRARKO
You have a strength your brother
lacks.
EXT. FIELD – DAY
Mwilla-Mina Struggles to her feet.
MWILLA-MINA
How long does this last?
PRUDENCIA
I don’t know how to put it in terms you’ll understand, Mwilla-Mina … We’re currently experiencing time in a totally different way than we’re used to.
MWILLA-MINA
It’s so heavy. Why hasn’t it stopped
yet.
PRUDENCIA
I might not stop here. It might just
keep going.
Mwilla-Mina shakes her head…
MWILLA-MINA
You Crazy … everything stops.
MADAME CHAO
Here, everything just keeps on going.
MWILLA-MINA

FRINT-ANDA-HALPH

PRUDENCIA

MADAME CHAO
Breathing Deeply at Regular intervals

INT. CASTLE HALLWAY – DAY
Nikki strides forward with Brarko and Mody at her heals.
NIKKI
We will go to Alphos and Consult
the Oracle.
MODY
And Brendemir?
NIKKI
What my Brother doesn’t know
can’t hurt him.
EXT. GRAVEYARD – DUSK
The crowd moves away slowly, leaving Brendemir standing alone over the grave.
EXT. FIELD – DUSK
MWILLA-MINA
What we gonna do now?
PRUDENCIA
I’m detecting complex nervous
systems and architecture…
She points toward the distance castle and village.
PRUDENCIA
…There.
MADAME CHAO
Yes, I sense them too.
PRUDENCIA
We’ll head in that direction.
Mwilla-Mina looks at Brody’s corpse.
MWILLA-MINA
What about Brody.
PRUDENCIA
He’s dead.
She moves off toward the castle.
BRODY’S CORPSE
As the others move off and away from him, Terminia climbs up Brody’s shoulder, and stares at him through streaming tears. He nuzzles his head against Brody’s stiff cheek.
EXT. PATH – TWILIGHT
The Motley Crew lumbers towards the castle as the sky grows dark.
MWILLA-MINA
It’s a good thing you became a
scientist this time, Prudencia.
Prudencia presses onward, her face a mask of stony darkness.
